The sky is not the limit, it is the view” was what my friend told me after hearing about my new endeavour in writing travel blogs. I immediately took to this concept, and began to think about the countless amount of people that think they cannot travel because they often get so caught up in the idea of planning epic international trips, that they forget all of the amazing opportunities they have available to them in their home country.
If you ask individuals in 2019, “where do you want to travel to” most might say somewhere abroad like Dubai, Paris, or Italy. Others might name LA, New York, or Miami as hot spots in the USA. While it is natural to want to visit big name destinations, it is not always necessary to gain a true and meaningful travel experience.
Travelling experiences are different for everyone. Some get to go out of the country, while others take a road or bus trip to their destination. Either way, each experience has provided different opportunities to travel. Most of my memorable travels were road trips that I took that were several hours from my home state and city and not the most popular travel destination at that time. I got to understand how the country I live in today, began, worked, and functioned. As we learned from my first blog travel not only includes having fun, but most importantly learning about the origins, culture, and possible struggles or victory that particular place has dealt with, continue to struggle with or overcame. Don’t limit yourself to what the outside world perceives as a travel experience. There is no time limit to your travel destinations. It’s where and what you want it to be.
So I believe that the sky is definitely the view, and it is not the only way to experience great wonders that surround you. The real beauty of it all is that you don’t have to head towards the far outskirts of the world or country to make this happen. All you have to do is open your mind and eyes to new things!!!!!! It’s actually not that hard. Travel experiences can always be had…At any time or any place, and every destination around the world. It is just up to you to have them. Begin to take the road less travelled and expand your travel experiences with being open to going to places around you, even if you can’t fly to get there.
Remember the sky’s view is just one option for seeing and experiencing the world around you. So before you think that you can’t enjoy life cause you are not travelling where everyone else is going, I’m here to tell you to stop. Don’t let everyone else’s experience limit or stop you from the beginning or adding to your travel experiences. Remind yourself that you don’t have to enjoy the same things as other people. Do the things that will make you happy. So I challenge those who have not left their home town in months, maybe years to plan a weekend or day trip to expand their horizons and learn new things about themselves in an unfamiliar environment.
Continue to travel with a purpose!!!!
